Building Safe Communities

Though we have provided prevention education for decades, this program was established in 2021. NORA has been dedicated to utilizing strategic approaches to prevent sexual violence and raise awareness about our services and programs in Western Riverside County. This was previously done by providing educational programming to youth, parents, and school educators. The intention behind this was to help teach our community about safe and healthy sexual related interactions to promote positive social skills, mental health, healthy relationships.

Outreach efforts have evolved over time beginning with the Power program geared towards helping students find the power to end all forms of sexual violence in their community through a series of presentations, youth groups, and self-defense workshops.
Other methods of community engagement include:
  • Participating in resource fairs for community organizations and college campuses
  • Providing presentations to students from middle school through college on topics related to sexual violence
  • Hosting social media campaigns
  • Hosting fundraising events
